I woke up today and it was snowing…which was perfect inspiration and gave me the little push I needed to complete this!
This took a lot longer then I thought it would. It was slow to sew together, though it all went really smoothly. And the fabric is so delicate it had to be hemmed and topstitched by hand, which took around five hours.
As I mentioned in a previous post, it’s a seven piece pattern drafted by me. The skirt is fully lined with peachskin, and the overskirt is a gorgeous silk - I’m not sure what material it is, but it feels like a mix between chiffon and organza with metallic threads running through it. It was an end cut found in NYC in the garment district, and a very lucky find!
the fabric is so wonderful!
